Have you got what it takes to fill these shoes? We know you do!
Walk A Mile In Her Shoes combines big hearts with big feet and brings the whole community together for a great cause. The event premise is simple; men collect pledges (minimum $200) and walk a few blocks in women's shoes, raising eyebrows and funds in support of YWCA Cambridge's programs for women and families. Sign up as an individual or recruit a team to join you. Don't forget to call today and reserve your shoe size!
Wednesday June 13th, 2012 | 12pm - 1pm | Cambridge City Hall
The Shoe is a Symbol
We could never expect that by putting on a pair of red high heels we could even begin to understand the issues and barriers that women and girls in our community face. The shoes are a symbol of solidarity. When you put on those red shoes you are making a public declaration to the women and girls of Cambridge that you will walk beside them and speak up when your voice has the ability to make a difference in their lives
You're Supporting Girls and Women in Our Community
Each year YWCA Cambridge helps women and girls overcome barriers, and thrive in this community. Our unique programs support women on their journey to economic independence; build a safer community by reducing violence and aggression in schools and promoting pro-social behaviour; create safe spaces for girls and young women to learn skills that will help them to develop healthy, equal relationships; and cultivate women leaders of tomorrow through leadership opportunities for girls.
