Volunteer with the YWCA

YWCA Cambridge was built by volunteers in this community. Volunteers continue to play an essential role in the work that we do. Each year volunteers help by ensuring our child care centres a safe and inspiring place to grow; bringing valuable skills and energy to our pre-employment program; giving children a wonderful summer camp experience; bringing the Roots of Empathy program to local school children; and organizing events in the community.

If you are interested in supporting women and girls in Cambridge by donating your time, energy and skills please contact Kim Decker by email or call (519) 267-6444. Or learn more about some of our great volunteer opportunities:

Roots of Empathy

The Roots of Empathy program is looking for volunteer classroom instructors; and families with a baby who will be between the ages of 2 to 4 months old in the month of October. Learn more about Roots of Empathy and how you can get involved or contact:

Summer Day Camps

Youth 14 years of age (having completed grade 9 or a Counsellor in Training Program) and older individuals are invited to join the volunteer program at Shade's Mills Camp. If you enjoy being with young children and enjoy the outdoors this is a great way for high school students to earn some mandatory volunteer hours. Camp is a very busy place and help is always appreciated by the staff and campers.

Download an application form or pick one up from the YWCA Cambridge office. Completed applications should be forwarded to YWCA Cambridge for review.
